A trio of animated posters I made for my undergraduate senior project. This project focuses on the bright and boisterous advertising of the late 50s and early 60s and juxtaposes this with modern era fears of big tech overreach. Each poster represents a different factor, each advertising a different product in relation to the nuclear family member they share space with and the animation that overtakes them, accompanied by the company logo of DOLOS Technologies. This company serves as a representation of big tech companies such as Google, Twitter, Facebook, Apple, etc. Poster 1 is social media/data mining/tracking, poster 2 is Artificial Intelligence, and poster 3 is censorship. Overall, this was a tremendous achievement for me in terms of animation, vector tracing and social criticism through art.
This is the set up for this project. To further bring alive the illusion of the late 1950s, era accurate furniture, posters and props where installed to give it the feeling of a midcentury corporate expo.
Poster 1: Showcases the first part of the nuclear family, the father, advertising DOLOS' new phone-like product. This serves to show factor 1, social media/data mining/tracking.
Poster 2: Showcases the second part of the nuclear family, the son, advertising DOLOS' new toy. This serves to show factor 2, Artificial Intelligence.
Poster 3: Showcasing the third part of the typical nuclear family, the housewife, advertising DOLOS' new television. This serves to show factor 3, Censorship.
